Thank you TheirWorld for funding this project. This project is bridging the digital divide among high school students in the Kanifing’s local government area  and beyond.

Digital Literacy

Digital literacy goes beyond knowing how to take a selfie or using social media. It is about being able to understand and make use of technology. It has to do with one’s ability to create, use and find beneficial information from the internet.
At our computer classes, we teach our students advanced digital skills such as coding, data analysis, etc. These skills are designed to equip them with the ability to think critically, solve problems and create tools for other users of technology.

Weekend Computer Coding

Weekend Computer Coding and Programming at the Learning and Resource Center

We know that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. This is why; young people are finishing high school without knowing how to use a computer, or being equipped with relevant skills that will enable them to become self-reliance. For young people to thrive in the 21st century, they need advanced digital skill, essential life skills, or any income-generating skills that will empower them to become self-sustenance after high school, even with-or-with no opportunities for tertiary or university education.

This is why we have continued to build opportunities for young people to acquire digital literacy skills, including income-generating and leadership skills.

We are accountable for how we use the resources entrusted to us, ensuring that our decision-making is open and transparent. We measure our impact and always striving to improve our performance. We believe in the possibility of a better world, and we are committed to making it real.

Over 7 years of creating real change by alleviating poverty through Education.

International #GirlsinICT Day 2022

Today, 28 April 2022, the world is marking the International Girls in ICT day. The day was established to help inspire girls to think of a career path in technology. The engagement of the girl child in ICT is more crucial now than it has ever been. Which is why our computer department takes the time to teach young ladies advanced digital skills and coding. The future is female. The future will also be driven by technology. It is a part of our responsibility to ensure that before the future gets here, our girls are well equipped and prepared for it. Happy International Girls in ICT day to every girl child. #GirlsinICT
